Welcome to this week's podcast! Got a real gem this week - the band Seona Dancing (Don't say 'see-OH-nuh'. Don't even THINK 'see-OH-nuh'. It's SHAW-nuh.). Short-lived musical attempt in 1982 from Bill Macrae, and his friend Ricky Gervais. Yes..THAT Ricky Gervais of 'The Office' fame. Sadly the group had little success, releasing only two singles 'More To Lose' in 1983 which reached number 70 on the Billboard charts and 'Bitter Heart' which gained little popularity and lead to the group disbanding in a year later. Surprisingly the track 'More To Lose' became a huge hit in the Philippians after radio station DWRT-FM in Manila began playing the track under the fictitious name 'Fade' by a band called 'Medium'. Why the changed name? The DJ never wanted anyone else to be able to find and play the track, making it exclusive to his show.
In addition to Seona Dancing, we had a little fun, and played Thomas Dolby's "Europa and the Pirate Twins" and the follow - up "Eastern Bloc" back to back.
Stick figure diva Stacey Q made her way onto the podcast as an ungodly remix. I admit, I like "Two of Hearts," but some remixes should never have existed.
